About Us
I was frustrated. Nothing but brake lights for miles. None of the radio stations had reported anything, so there we sat... for hours.
After all, what alternative did we have. My wife Ann and I had recently purchased a home in the Inland Empire and were commuting together to our jobs in Orange County Irvine and Aliso Viejo. It was during those long waits in traffic this website was born. An information portal to help us, the commuters.
It started simple enough. A single page with live traffic maps, radio stations, and access to the California Highway Patrol logs. I eventually found links to live Caltrans traffic camera feeds, news feeds, and began collecting things to do (now called fun fun fun) and pictures.
I love how pictures come out along Ortega Highway and intend on doing more with the gallery. You may not believe this, but the picture at the top of each page was taken by me at about 50mph (Ann was driving, I promise) just as we rounded the last corner out of the Elsinore Valley.
Aside from photography, I hope to expand the referral list of local businesses. Not a phone book, but a list of the people you remember and use... the handyman, car guy, best little food place, etc.
Perhaps the most current thing I'm working on for the website is a forum. Somewhere for us all to really connect. I have a feeling with a forum, the gallery, referral list, and even the list of fun things to do will work themselves out.
Until then, thank you for stopping by, feel free to email us suggestions or comments. Be safe and see you on the highway.
